You may have received a recall notice for your KIA vehicle. If that happens, you can come to Kia of Lexington for help. We’ll take care of the recalled issue and get you back on the road safely. If you live near Lexington, Richmond, or Nicholasville, we’re your hometown KIA dealer.
A KIA vehicle may be recalled for many reasons, but they usually have to do with safety, emissions, or performance. The recall generally affects a specific model or a set production batch. Some of the most common recalls involve:
Brakes
Airbags
Fuel systems
Software
Malfunctions in these areas can have serious consequences. KIA works with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to let vehicle owners know of any recalls for their vehicles.
When a recall is issued, you’ll receive a notice by mail or email. The notice will let you know what the issue is and what steps you need to take. You can also check the NHTSA website to see open recalls. You just need to provide your VIN or use the tool to look it up on the KIA website. Repairs for recalls are performed at no cost to you.
After you receive a recall notice or find it on one of the websites, your next step is to contact Kia of Lexington. Our service team will verify the recall and schedule an appointment with you to get the recall taken care of. We’ll let you know how long the repair will take. Scheduling time will also depend on whether we are waiting on a new part from the manufacturer. Some repairs can be completed in an hour while others will take much longer. We’ll let you know what to expect when you contact us.
If the recall is a safety issue and the parts must be shipped, we’ll provide you with a loaner vehicle. Our goal is always to fix all recalls as quickly as possible.
The recall notice will tell you if you shouldn’t drive the vehicle until the repair is completed or if your vehicle is still safe to drive. It will also mention any symptoms of the recall. If you notice any of these symptoms, you can contact Kia of Lexington. Don’t try to make the repairs yourself. Repairs for recalls required certified KIA technicians to perform the work.
Don’t delay getting a recall issue fixed even if it doesn’t pose a safety hazard. Even a simple recall problem can cause larger damage down the road if it’s not taken care of. Not repairing recalls can also lower the value of a vehicle and make it harder to sell.
If you’ve received a recall notice, you can schedule service with our Service Center. Our service technicians will get the necessary part from our Parts Center or have it ordered if it’s not in stock.
